AN OVERVIEW OF THE NHL FOR SUNDAY by Momma Gouche

In winning over the  Detroit Red Wings Toronto is in 5th place in the Atlantic Division with 18 points. Tampa Bay Lightening  and the Montreal Canadians still have the hold on this Division and it is just a matter of which team holds out best in the season. The Pittsburgh Penguins  lead the Metropolitan Division and it looks like that could stand for a while. The Nashville Predators lead the Central, but the big surprise is that Winnipeg leads My Chicago Blackhawks by one point. Not that I do not wish Winnipeg well, but my first choice has always been the Chicago Black Hawks. Even though  the Anaheim Ducks  lost to the  Vancouver Canucks on Sunday, they still lead the Pacific Division with one point over the Canucks. It is gratifying to see the Canadian teams doing well, but the plight of Edmonton is really quite a shock. Practically in the cellar with 13 points. Canada can  only hope that the Canucks can be somewhat in contention for the Cup. You have to think big!
