On Wednesday night Jonas Hiller, goalie for the Calgary Flames, thrust off 49 of 50 shot from the Chicago Blackhawks, which eventually lead to a 2-1 win for the Flames. Dennis Wideman scored for Calgary in the second period and Andrew Shaw had a power play goal in the third. The game went into overtime and Mikael Backlund settled the game in overtime with a goal Corey Crawford should have had and he would like that one back. This has so far been the most outstanding play of a goalie in the season and will probably stand for some time. Although my Blackhawks were the victim of Hiller’s dominance I much admire his steadfastness, and he totally deserved the first star.
