The Pittsburgh Penguins were on line to end the series on Sunday night , but the New York Rangers were not ready to concede. The Rangers took the helm and were up 2-0 early in the first period. But Brandon Sutter caught a deflected shot and put it past the injured Henrik Lundqvist. The period ended 2-1. There was no more scoring for the Pens and Derrick Brassard got an insurance goal for the Rangers at 15:30 of the second. And, thus ended the scoring. The teams meet again on Wednesday night … tied 3-3 …. and perhaps? …. the Penguins can prevail on their home turf … and take the series.
