I diligently sat by my television Thursday night to watch my Chicago Blackhawks with a 3-2 lead at the end of the 1st period in their game against the St Louis Blues. I was confident we had a win in the making. There was no scoring in the second. The Hawks were well organized and Corey Crawford was solid in net. Late in the third period Jaden Schwartz tied the score for the Blues. There was no scoring in the 1st and 2nd overtimes. It was getting late in the evening and I decided to take a rest before the 3rd overtime began.

I awoke sometime later …. and much to my chagrin…. I saw that Alexander Steen had scored 26 seconds into the third overtime to give the Blues a 4-3 win. Is there any adage in “If you snooze …you lose”? It has been touted that the Hawks will take the round in six, so I hope that both the team and I stay awake for the whole series …no matter how long it takes.
