A mishandled puck by Jonathon Bernier in the third period lead to a 3-2 loss for the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday night in their game against the Carolina Hurricanes. (Nobody is perfect), but unfortunately it cost the game. James Reimer was injured seconds into the game and Bernier went in in relief. A game that Bernier would like to forget. as the loss allowed the San Jose (in their win) to take over a lone top spot in the league. The Leafs were ahead 2-0 in the second, after a scoreless first period. The Hurricanes took over in the third and the misplay by Bernier gave the Hurricanes the win. Reimer and Bernier are sharing the goaltending spot and …  to this point … all has gone well. Plenty of games left in the season to see how well the Leafs can fair after a long drought.
