Toronto Turns A New Leaf by Momma Gouche

Who would ever have dreamt that the Toronto Maple Leafs would be at the top of the standings one week into the season? Perhaps ,when coach Randy Carlyle replaced James Reimer with Jonathon Bernier, after Reimer had let in 3 goals, made the difference in Saturday nights’ game against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Whatever?  The Leafs were behind late in the second period until Joffrey Lupul scored a power play goal @ 19:42. James Van Reimsdyk snapped one in at 2:52 of the third and the regulation ended in a 4-4 tie. There was no scoring in OT, but  Mason Raymond and Tyler Bozak clinched the win in shootout. We are looking at a brand new Toronto Maple Leafs.
