Hawks Shot Down In Shootout by Momma Gouche

There was no scoring in the first Period of the game between the Chicago Black Hawks and the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday night. 59:00 seconds into the second Patrick Kane put a wrist shot past goalie, Ben Bishop, and Brandon Saad added a ppg  wrist shot @ 9:14, to give the Hawks a 2-0 lead. Looked like the usual game expected from the Hawks. But Tampa Bay was not going down that easy. Martin St. Louis and Teddy Purcell scored within minutes in the third period and the score remained tied 4-4 through regulation time. There were no goals in OT. Valtteri Filppula got the winner in the shootout and the Hawks were left “shot in the foot”. The Hawks had 6 power plays to the Lightnings’ 1. The shots on goal were 39 for Chicago and only 16 for Tampa bay. Ben Bishop played an outstanding game in net.
