The Wild Ground The Hawks And The Penguins Squeak By The Islanders by Momma Gouche

The Chicago Blackhawks scored midway in the first period, but the Minnesota Wild answered 5 minutes later and the score was tied 1-1 at the end of the period. There was no scoring in the second, but the Islanders went ahead 3 minutes into the 3rd. Things were not looking good for my Hawks and Minnesota was coming on strong, but Duncan Keith scored at 17:1 4 and the game finally went into overtime. Jason Zucker scored 2:15 into overtime giving Minnesota the win. The series is now at 2-1 for Chicago. The Hawks did not look sharp in the game, but I’m not one that blames a loss on away ice. As to the Pittsburgh Penquin/New York Islanders game, I think the Pens were lucky to get out with a win. Even though they retaleated with 4 goals after New york scored the first two they perhaps got overconfident. They gave up a shorthanded goal to Kyle Okoposo and another goal to John Tavares … tying the game. The game went into overtime and fortunately Chris Kunitz, with his second goal, saved the day for the Penguins. Pittsburgh now leads the series 2-1. I will report on the Montreal Canadiens and the Ottawa Senators when the game is over.
