Capitals Wash-out In The 7th Game by Momma Gouche

The Washington Capitals put up a tremendous effort in the 6th game against the New York Rangers and … in winning … forced a seventh and deciding game. It was a sad disappointment to see the Capitals play such a lackluster game in the seventh. The Rangers went ahead at 1:32 of the first period and that’s all the scoring until 10:05 of the third. When the Capitals got a goal :38 seconds later there was a promise that perhaps the team had come back with a desire to win. But that was the one … and only … goal Washington could manage. They outshot the Rangers 11-4 in the third, but they lost the game 2-1 and the series 4-3.The New York Rangers move on to meet the New Jersey Devils Monday night in the semi finals.
