Green Lights The Caps by Momma Gouche

Whenever Alex Ovechkin gets a free hand on the puck you can be pretty sure he will one timer a shot at the goal … and most times, hits the mark. He gave the Washington Capitals their first goal at 12:43 of the first period. Even though the New York Rangers only had three shots on goal in the first period they were by no means lacking in agression. It was an actiom packed game with lots of end to end play. There were only 2 penalties to each team, but they were of a rather serious nature. Neither team was giving an inch and the goals were one for one. At the end of the second period the score was tied 2-2. Past the middle of the third period one might be thinking … oh! oh! another round of overtime. But Mike Green put the cap on the game with a powerplay goal at 14:12. Washington won 3-2 and the round is tied at 2-2. They meet again on Monday night.      Momma Gouche now leads Gouche 7-6
