Penguins Learn To Fly by Momma Gouche

It was a combined effort by 9 players that gave the Pittsburgh Penguins a 10-3 (must win) victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday night. It was an ugly game, with 26 penalties meted out (including 5 misconducts). The Flyers had 3 powerplay goals in the first period and Pittsburgh had 1, but the Penguins came out of the first with a 4-3 lead. The Penguins never looked back, scoring 5 unanswered goals in the second period. Evgeni Malkin got his second goal of the game in the third, to give the Penguins a 10-3 win. If Pittsburgh can play three more games as well as they played this one they might “just” have a chance to win the round. And how about the Vancouver Canucks pulling out a 3-1 victory over the Los Angeles Kings, to stay alive for another crack at winning their round. Two powerplay goals made the difference. Bonne chance Canucks!
