Way Back Then by Momma Gouche

Before the NHL hockey season opened I went out on the limb and predicted that the Washington Capitals would win The Stanley Cup. Well … they may just get in the playoffs … perhaps at the demise of the Winnipeg Jets from the 8th, and final spot, to qualify. The Jets are struggling, but certainly we cannot fault the play of Blake Wheeler and Ondrej Pavelec. The team is just not producing at the right time. Missing out on a 4 minute power play yesterdy was not the sign of a team that was in sync with one another.”When the going gets tough, the tough have to get tougher”. And while we are on the topic of playoffs, the Toronto Maple Leafs have an appointment with the Philadelphia Flyers this evening. But even with a win, it will still “leaf” them a far cry from a playoff position. Eight years is a long drought.
