The Jets Are Flying High by Momma Gouche

The Winnipeg Jets have won 4 out of 5 of their last games. The Carolina Hurricanes were no match for the Jets on Friday night. Even though they took two penalties in the first period they played a near perfect game. The Jets controlled the first period and into the second. Juri Tlusty put the Hurricanes on the board at 5:17 of the second, but the rest of the game was all the Jets. Winnipeg took 4 of the 5 penalties meted out, but no damage was done. Andrew Ladd got the winning goal of the game and he took great satisfaction in having bested the Hurricanes, after they had traded him off. Carolina out-shot the Jets 11-3 in the third period, but Bryan Little put the cap on the game with an empty net goal with 9 seconds left in the game. Paul Maurice, coach of the Hurricanes said the jets played a hard, physical game that his team could not keep up to.
