Leafs Blow Away The Caps by Momma Gouche

The Toronto Maple Leafs breezed through Saturday’s game against the Washington Capitals. Tim Connolly started the Leafs’ scoring at 1:23 of the first period. Except for the goal for the Caps by Brooks Laich at 2:30, Toronto never looked back. Matt Frattin, only 21 years old, got his first goal of the season and first in the NHL at 19:16.The Leafs had three power play goals in the second from Tyler Bozak, Joffrey Lupul and Cody Franson. Phil Kessel put one home at 5:29 of the send. So it was time to replace Thomas Vokoun with Mickal Neuvirth in the Washington goal. At 19:16 David Stakel got a short-handed goal to finish the scoring with a 7-1 victory for the Leafs. Joffrey Lupul had himself another great performance, with a goal and 3 assists. The Capitals suffered their third consecutive loss and my prediction for them to take the Cup this year has proven that this Guru should  stick to what she really thinks. My leaning is usually toward the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Chicago Blackhawks, but it’s a little late for second guessing. Jonas Gustavsson played another tremendous game and Toronto is sitting pretty comfortable with 24 points. But what about my Blackhawks! They have 27 points.
