Jets Get On Stream by Momma Gouche

On Monday night The Winnipeg Jets broke a 5 game losing streak and handed the Tampa Bay Lightning their first loss after a 12 game winning streak. Evander Kane scored at 4:51 in the first period and Dustin Byfuglien came up with his infamous slapshot at 12:02. Mark Food, who is having a good series, put in a power play goal at 7:49 of the second and the Jets were up 3-0. Dwayne Roloson was replaced by Mathieu in the middle of the second. Martin St Louis put the Lightning on board at 10;47, but Andrew Ladd followed at 12:14 to put the Jets up 4-1.Tim Stapleton added his goal 10;04 of the third. Steven Stamkos put one past Ondrej Pavelec at 10:46 and ended the scoring at 5-2 Jets. The Winnipeg fans took offense to Stamkos antics near the end of the period and booed him for the rest of the game. Tampa Bay had some good scoring chances, but the stalwart Pavelec brushed them aside like flies. Byfuglien had a goal and an assist and was up in good form again.
