Jets Fade In First Period By Momma Gouche

On Thursday night the Winnipeg Jets kept the puck in the Florida Panther’ end for the first five minutes and then the Panthers Pounced. Kris Versteeg scored at 7:14 and again on a power play at 17:27. The Panthers had scored twice on 5 shots in the first period. At 5:25 of the second Jason Garrison put one away and Mike Santorelli got a power play goal at 18:04. Florida was ahead 4-0. At this point Ondrej Pavelec was replaced by Peter Mannino in goal. After 2 periods of drought Tim Stapleton gets a power play goal and Andrew Ladd follows through at 5:40, to cut the lead in half. Kris Versteeg finished up the scoring with a hat trick goal and the score ends 5-2 for the Panthers. Brian Campbell had three assists. Although Dustin Byfuglien played a good game, he did take 2 penalties, and the Jets badly need him on defense. but he does have 4 points in three games.
