Jets Are Grounded In OT by Momma Gouche

It was an exciting and furious game between the Winnipeg Jets and the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday. The jets scored two goals within 1 minute 16 seconds and it looked like they were on their way. Mark Flood get his second goal in the NHL and Bryan Little gets his first goal of the series. The Jets are up 2-1. But the ugly word penalties start early for the Jets and Derek Roy got a power play goal, and eleven seconds later Corey Tropp  scores his first goal in the NHL and the score is all tied up. Winnipeg has already taken 3 penalties. Tanner Glass scores for the Jets and they are up again. But eleven seconds later Jason Pominville scores a short-handed goal and the score is 3-3 at the end of the first. Bryan Little gets his second goal on a power play at 1:07 of the second , which isn’t answered by the Sabres  til 15:48 when Thomas Vanek slaps one in on a power play to end the second period scoring. At :48 Dustin Byfuglien get his usual snappy goal, which stand good until Derek Roy ties the game again  at 13:52, on another power play, and the game ends in a tie.  In OT Byfuglien barely misses ending the game , but Thomas Vanek gets his second power play goal of the game and the rest is history. The Jets took 14 penalties to 6 for the Sabres and had two 5 on 3’s scored on. Pavelec is not to be faulted on the outcome as he was put on a great deal of pressure on the power plays. The Jets were exhausted, but by their own folly, came out the losers. They got eight points on the road trip and now they go home to perhaps a more settled condition.
