Washington et al by Momma Gouche

As I am not able to watch more than one game at a time I have had to rely on other sources to glean some stats from. Washington Capitals (my pick for the Stanley Cup) had a decisive 5-1 win over the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday night. Alexander Ovechkin, who has not performed the way that is expected of him, got two assists. The Caps with 18 points in 11 games still leads the pack, as they have played two fewer games than the Chicago Blackhawks, who have 19 points in 13 games. The Montreal Canadiens squeaked out a 2-1 win over the Ottawa Senators. After the tripping. slashing and interference, there doesn’t appear to have been anything too exciting in the game. The win helps, but they have a long way to go at 12 for 12 points. Chicago had a 5-4 loss to Tampa Bay , which was decided 4 minutes into overtime with a goal by Vincent Lecavalier. Steven Stamkos had three goals, Patrick Kane had three assists and Marian Hossa had 2 assists. Calgary had a 2-1 loss to the Buffalo Sabres, which leaves them with a long way to go with only 11 points in 12 games.
