Jets Almost Blew it!…Momma Gouche

Scott Harnell tipped one in at 4:10 of the first period on Thursday night to give the Philadelphia Flyers a 1-0 lead. But The Winnipeg Jets retaliated with goals at 10:01 by Randy Jones, at 13:39 by Jim Slater and at 18:37 by Kyle Wellwood. they lead 3-1 at the end of the first. Tanner Glass scored at 3:39 and Nik Antropov scored a power play goal at 4:39 of the second. It looked like the Jets were headed for a win with a 5-1 lead. But the Jets started to take penalties and Claude Giroux scored on a 5 on 3 at 6:25. Winnipeg was playing extremely well, but they needed to restrain their over enthusiastic aggression. The Jets’ Evander Kane scored on a power play at 10:39 of the second. The Flyers came back at 14:11 and 16:41 with goals by Danny Briere and Maxime Talbot. At the end of the second  the score was 6-4 with shots on goal 19-8 in favor of Philadelphia. Danny Briere scored again at 1:09 of the third and Matt Read followed ar 2:23. James Van Riemsdyk mad it three goals in about 2 minutes at 3:02. The Flyers are ahead 7-6  The Jets are having trouble clearing behind their own net.  The Jets get goals from Alexander Burmistron and Mark Stuart at 3:30 and 4:31 to again go ahead  8-7. Van Riemsdyk scored again at 16:21 and the score is tied.  Andrew Ladd pulls one out at 18:54 and the Jets squeak out a win. Somewhere in this game Pavelec took a rest and was replaced by goalie Chris Mason, but returned later to finish the game. With a little over a minute left in the game the Jets pull out a win that they should have been well on the road to in the second period. What a Game! Definitely worth the price of admission.
