Jets Foisted by Penalties…by Momma Gouche

The Winnipeg Jets played well enough to win against the New York Rangers on Monday night, but six penalties (two on which the Rangers scored their only two goals ) didn’t help their chances. The Jets out shot the Flyers 8-3 in the first period but even with the solid play of Nik Antropov there was no scoring in the first period. Rustan Fedatenko scored a power play goal for the Rangers at 5:51 of the second. The Jets came on strong in the second and finally, after many efforts, (including a near short-handed goal from Nik Antropov, Antropov scored to tie the game 1-1. There was no other scoring until Ryan Callahan scored a power play goal for the Rangers a 8:41 of the third, and the New York Rangers win 2-1. The Jets out shot the Rangers 28-17 and there are some very promising players on the team. A frustrating game to watch for we Winnipeg fans, but the Jets are showing promise, but they have to get it together soon, as their points are sadly behind the top contenders.
