Boston Garden Jinxes The Canucks…by Momma Gouche?

Perhaps it is Roberto Luongo that is intimidated by the Garden. The first goal seemed to, again, take the confidence out of Luongo. Boston’s Brad Marchand scored at 5:31 and 35 seconds later Milan Lucic added another. Andrew Ference and Michael Ryder tallied two more and by 9:45 Vancouver was down 4-0.( Four goals in 4.14 seconds became a record in Stanley Cup Playoffs). Luongo was replaced by Cory Schneider, who only let one goal in. The Canucks had started out playing extremely  well and it looked like they were well in control. Then the flood gates opened and by the end of the first period the game was out of hand, and the Canucks had lost their spark.Vancouver had several good chances and, but for the bounce of the puck and…thee Tim Thomas, the deficit may not have been so overwhelming. The game was virtually over and the goal by Henrik Sedin at .22 seconds of the third only avoided a shutout. The Bruins’ David Krejci added another to the Boston score to make it 5-1 and Maxim Lapierre got another goal for Vancouver late in the period. The Bruins have rousted the Canucks three times in their home arena. Now back to Vancouver on Wednesday. If the home arena puts that much bearing on the outcome, I will settle for winning … by one … at home.
