Canucks Nick Bruins…by Momma Gouche

‘In the nick of time’ … Ryan Kesler lured the Boston Bruins’ defense out-of- position. Kesler catches the stick of Jannik Hanson, who relays the puck to Raffi Torres, and the puck is in the net. Stunned and jubilant are the only words that can describe the euphoria of the Vancouver fans, as Kesler pulls one off again …he pulls the defense in the wrong direction. The Canucks have a lot of speed, but, even on 6 power plays they couldn’t catch Tim Thomas off guard, who played an unbelievable game for 59 minutes and 41 seconds of play. Luongo as well played an outstanding game. Boston had outshot Vancouver 17-12 in the first period and Tim Thomas had kept them in the game with spectacular saves. The second period was very rough, including a finger-biting by Alexandre Burrows on Patrice Bergeron. (It is yet to be determined if Burrows will be held to account for this incident) The loss of Alexandre will be a real blow to the Canucks. Burrows had accumulated 8 minutes of penalty time for other infractions throughout the game. The third period slow down somewhat, as the speed of the play had taken its toll on the feisty players. As the fans and I were anticipating another round of overtime … out of the blue … Torres finds the net and the Canucks have drawn first blood. The Vancouver Canucks are up one in the final Stanley Cup Series. WOW!
