Canucks Prevail Penalties by Momma Gouche

Despite having four penalties in the first period and another pending slated for the opening of the second, Vancouver managed to ward off any goals against and the period ended 0-0. The Canucks went on a roll in the second and after killing off their fifth penalty Ryan Kessler scored at 9:16 on a power play. Samie Salo added two power play goals — one at 10:55 and another at 11:11. Vancouver was up 3-0. Antti Niemi did not have one of his better days. Alexander Burrows tallied at 5:43 of the third to put the Canucks up 4-0 and it looked like the game was over. San Jose rallied at 7:02 with a goal from Andre Desjardin and Ryane Clowe added on at 15:55, but the damage was done and Vancouver had prevailed and the game ended 4-2. The Canucks are up 3-1 in the series. If you recall, I said they would take the series in five and Vancouver is heading home for the fifth on Tuesday.
