Bolts’ Gagne skating with team

Besides winning their last six straight games, another reason to like the Tampa Bay Lightning’s chances in these play-offs,  is that scoring forward, Simon Gagne, will be back this spring with the team. Gagne, who scored 17 goals and 40 points this season, was injured during Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals and many believed that he wouldn’t be back. Remarkably, Tampa Bay GM, Steve Yzerman, announced on Wednesday that Gagne, who was out with a head injury, has been skating with the team and is feeling no side effects from being hit by Washington Capitals’ defenceman, Scott Hannan. “Feeling good. We’re hopeful he’ll be ready for Game One,” Yzerman said in reference to the start of their Eastern Conference finals against the Boston Bruins. Tampa Bay, who are coming off a four game sweep of the heavily favoured Washington Capitals, will still be missing veteran defenceman, Pavel Kubina, who is still day to day with a concussion, also suffered in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. After losing Game 4 against the Pittsburgh Penguins to fall behind 3-1 in their Eastern Conference quarterfinal series, Tampa has caught fire in winning six in a row. With a healthy Gagne in tow Tampa is a good bet to, not only beat the Boston Bruins in the upcoming Eastern Conference finals, but to perhaps … win the Stanley Cup.
