1. BRUINS’ MCQUAID DIAGNOSED WITH SPRAINED NECK

The Boston Bruins will more than likely be without their hard nosed defenceman Adam McQuaid for Game 3 of their playoff series against the Philadelphia Flyers. McQuaid who has three assists and a +4 rating so far in these playoffs was injured late in the first when he missed his opponent with a body check and went crashing head first into the boards.  “He suffered a sprained neck and everything so far has come back negative, so he is a day-to-day player right now,” Bruins coach Claude Julien said. Boston would go on to beat Philadelphia 3-2 in overtime to take a commanding 2-0 lead in their Eastern Conference semifinals series.

RANGERS’ DEL ZOTTO UNDERGOES SUCCESSFUL SURGERY

Defenceman Michael Del Zotto is resting comfortably after undergoing sports hernia surgery on Tuesday morning. Del Zotto, who scored two goals and 11 points last season also excelled defensively as he had 72 blocked shots. The good news for all Rangers fans is that Del Zotto will be ready next fall for the opening of training camp.
