Bautista out of Jays’ lineup

The Toronto Blue Jays suffered a huge blow on Tuesday afternoon when it was announced that their best hitter, Jose Batista, won’t be playing against the Tampa Bay Rays. Toronto, who are currently occupying last place in the American League Eastern Division, have lost Batista for at least this upcoming series, due to severe neck spasms. According to Jays manager, John Farrell, his right fielder, who is hitting .357 with nine homeruns and 16 RBI’s, is scheduled next Monday to have an MRI. “Probably a few days away from him getting back and rejoining us,” Farrell said. “I think at this point we’re projecting sometime on the weekend.”
