LUONGO vs. RINNE…by Momma Gouche

After having been battered from every angle in Saturday night’s game against the Nashville Predators, and brilliantly thwarting off the attacks, Roberto Luongo look of dejection should be heartfelt by all Vancouver fans, as he had given his all against 36 shots. A short-handed goal by Alexander Burrows at 2:05 of the first period prevailed until 18:53 of the third. What transpired through the rest of the game is of very little consequence. One of the commentators predicted in the second break that if Vancouver didn’t get the next goal there would be long … long … periods of overtime. My thoughts were … where was this chap hiding his crystal ball … and where is he coming from. Unfortunately he called the shots right and to my chagrin … I owe him an apology for calling him a jerk. The overtime became tedious and even though Ryan Kesler had played a brilliant game he was not able to come up with our winner. Matt Halischuk settles Canucks fate at 14:51 of overtime and the Vancouver Canucks will have to come up with better strategy in their next encounter with the Predators on their home ice.
