Philadelphia Moves On…by Momma Gouche

The Flyers pounded Ryan Miller with 16 shots in the first period on Tuesday, but didn’t manage to score until 19:41, when Braydon Coburn snapped one past Miller. Philadelphia got 2 power play goals in the second; from Danny Briere at 4:45 and James van Riemsdyk at 10:19. Flyers’ Ville Leino scored at 1:59 of the second to up the tally to 4-0. Tyler Meyers put the Sabres on the score board at 6:33 in the third, but when Daniel Carcillo made it 5-1 at 10:03, it was time to replace Miller with Jhonas Enroth. It was a little too late for Buffalo to get back in the game.A power play goal by Brad Boyes at 15:21 cut the lead to 5-2 and thus ended the scoring and the series. The game was fraught with penalties … 8 for Philadelphia and 7 for Buffalo … producing two power play goals for the Flyers and one for the Sabres. I thought Buffalo had done well to take Flyers to a seventh game.
