Washington versus Rangers

 There were no goals scored in the first period of the Washington Capitals/New york Rangers game on Friday night. The Capitals played a solid game and took no risks. There were only two penalties assessed in the first period. In the second period Jason Chimera scored for Washington at 2:11  and Jason Arnott put Washington up 2-0, on a power play, at 4:08. The Capitals only had three shots in the second period and played a very cautious game, to hold on to their two goal lead. There was no scoring in the third. The Rangers removed their goalie with one minute left, but it was a futile effort and Washington won 2-0, and are up 2-0 in the series.
