Senators’ GM Unsure about Coach Clouston’s Future

Reading between the lines of what Bryan Murray said on Wednesday, it’s easy to conclude that Cory Clouston is not a safe bet to remain the Ottawa Senators coach come spring time.
Murray, who is the Senators GM let it be known to a scrum of reporters that not just Clouston but everyone including the players and even himself has to do a better job to salvage the season for the struggling underachieving Senators who are currently occupying 12th place in the Eastern Conference. Despite not letting the coach out to dry, Murray still wouldn’t go on record as giving Clouston who is in the final year of his contract a vote of confidence. “I’m not going to answer a question like that because I don’t know,” Murray said when asked about Clouston’s future. “We go to Chicago, we come home to play Tampa and go on the road the following week, I can’t answer that honestly.” During the press conference Murray denied all the rumours that recently he contacted owner Eugene Melnyk in an attempt to get Clouston fired. It’s almost a sure bet that if the Senators are still struggling by the end of January then Clouston will be gone.
