Brett Favre will miss second straight week

Sadly it looks like father time has finally caught up to veteran NFL quarterback Brett Favre. This 20 year veteran who has stared with the Atlanta Falcons, Green Bay Packers, New York Jets and the Minnesota Vikings is known as the iron man in football. On December 13, the Vikings rocked the sports world when they announced that Favre who is 41 years-old was about to snap that iron man streak of 297 straight games. After missing that particular game against the New York Giants, Favre will be sitting out a second straight game on Monday night against the Chicago Bears. On Saturday Favre tried practicing but was still experiencing some strong pain in that sprained shoulder joint. “The fact that he tried to do something today tells me that he has a strong desire to get back out there,” Vikings coach Leslie Frazier said. “It’s just, ‘Will his body let him?’ I know it’s difficult for him. Everybody knows how competitive he is.” Taking Favre’s place at quarterback will be rookie Joe Webb who has the confidence of his coach. “Joe Webb had a good day today,” Frazier said about Saturday practice. He really seems as if this whole thing is not too big for him, and I’m really looking forward to watching him on Monday night.”
