Obviously Richardson who enjoyed a 21 year NHL career was not in Boston on Saturday night where his team beat the Bruins 2-0. “There was an accident at their home (Friday) and Daron tried to take her life by hanging,” according to an undisclosed statement. “Her mother found her in the basement, and Daron was rushed to the hospital by ambulance where she remained in critical condition in ICU until she succumbed to her injuries.” The 41 year-old Richardson was a stay at home defenceman during his career with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Edmonton Oilers, Philadelphia Flyers, Tampa Bay Lightning and the Ottawa Senators.

2. BURNS SUSPENDED FOR BUTT- END

Even though Minnesota Wild defencman Brent Burns apologized and said it wasn’t done on purpose he still received a two game suspension from the league for butt-ending Florida Panthers forward Steve Bernier in the final seconds of what was a Panthers victory. At the final buzzer Burns who has five goals and nine points in 15 games this season received a game misconduct. Bernier unfortunately suffered facial fractures that may require surgery.
