Pominville Set to Return in Buffalo

Buffalo Sabres scoring forward Jason Pominville passed his final test with flying colours which means the veteran left winger will be back in the line-up on Wednesday night when the struggling Sabres play host to the Boston Bruins. On October 11, Pominville suffered a serious concussion against the Chicago Blackhawks when defenceman Niklas Hjalmarsson hit him from behind. After passing all base line concussion test Pominville wanted to make absolute sure he was fine and on Monday in practice he purposly gave himself that final test when he engaged in a battle along the boards with teammate Paul Gaustad. “Just trying to get involved and see how it will react, and it was fine,” said Pominville who has missed nine games. “It’s a good relief.” Buffalo who were given an outside chance at winning the Stanley Cup this year has gotten off to a rough 3-7-2 start. This includes a rough 4-0 loss in Dallas against the Stars last Saturday night. “It’s definitely not the start we wanted,” Pominville who has played in three games this year said. “But we can’t sit here and feel sorry for ourselves. We’ve got to look ahead of us.” Pominville will be playing on a line with Derek Roy and veteran Jochen Hecht. Unfortunately the Sabres might have to go without their MVP Ryan Miller in net due to a nagging upper body injury.
