1. LATENDRESSE ON INJURED RESERVE

The Minnesota Wild who are an offensively challenged team suffered a huge blow on Wednesday when they were forced to put scoring forward Guillaume Latendresse on injured reserve due to a lingering groin injury. This 23 year-old who has been out of action since October 25 was off to a great start with three goals and six points in eight games. Last season this former Montreal Canadiens 2005 second round draft pick scored an impressive 25 goals for the Wild.

2. FOWLER WILL REMAIN A DUCK

Rookie defenceman Cam Fowler can now rest a little easier after the Anaheim Ducks came out and announced on Wednesday that last summer’s 12th overall pick will not be sent back to junior. Prior to breaking his nose against the Phoenix Coyotes on October 17, Fowler had one goal and three points in six games. Fowler will be back on Wednesday in a home game against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

3. TOSKALA PLAYING IN SWEDISH ELITE LEAGUE
Former NHL goaltender Vesa Toskala has reportedly agreed to a one-month loan deal with AIK who play in the Swedish Elite League. Toskala who played with the San Jose Sharks, Toronto Maple Leafs, Anaheim Ducks and the calgary Flames during his career will serve as a backup for Viktor Fasth. “Toskala is looking for a club in the NHL or KHL and needs time to play at as high a level as possible,” AIK Sports manager anders Gozzi said. “Therefore this is a very good situation for both parties.” Toskala who is 33 years-old has registered 129 wins and 13 shutouts in the NHL.
