Pat Burns is Still Here!

Imagine waking up one morning and finding out that there are all sorts of reports circulating in the media that you have died. That’s exactly what happened on Friday to former NHL coach, Pat Burns, who has been battling lung cancer since January 2009. Upon hearing the news of his demise Burns immediately called TSN hockey reporter, Bob McKenzie, to set the record straight. “Here we go again,”said Burns, who is a three time Jack Adams Trophy winner (coach of the year). “They’re trying to kill me before I’m dead. I come to Quebec to spend some time with my family and they say I’m dead. They’ve had me dead since June. Tell them I’m alive.– Set them straight.” Burns, who beat colon cancer (2004) and liver cancer (2005), enjoyed an illustrious coaching career with the Montreal Canadiens, Toronto Maple Leafs, Boston Bruins and the New Jersey Devils. His greatest moment came in 2003, when with the Devils, he hoisted the Stanley Cup in triumph.
