Red Wings Bring McCrimmon On Board
The Stanley Cup Champions, Detroit Red Wings, made a recent addition to their coaching staff in signing, former player, Brad McCrimmon as one of the assistant coaches.
McCrimmon, who enjoyed an 18 year playing career, which included three years in Detroit, during the early 1990’s, had previous coaching stops with the Atlanta Thrashers, Calgary Flames and the New York Islanders.
General Manager, Ken Holland, also made some internal housekeeping moves in re-signing, one of their current assistant coaches, Paul MacLean, to a three year contract.
Mark Hardy Joins Kings Staff
Another team to make a small shake up to their coaching staff was the Los Angeles Kings, who on Monday, brought Mark Hardy on board, to serve as one of their assistant coaches. Hardy, who enjoyed a standout 15 year playing career, will be staring his second stint behind the Kings’ bench.
Previous to taking an assistant coaching position with the Chicago Black Hawks, two years ago, Hardy served as an assistant coach with the Kings.
Hardy will be joining Jamie Kompon, Nelson Emerson and Bill Ranford on, Terry Murray’s. revamped coaching staff.
